working from home

In accordance with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s executive order, 100% of our team will conduct all work from home, when not engaged in essential shoots (as described below). We offer a range of services that can be provided remotely such as consultation on in-house shooting or streaming projects, and rapid editing to turn your in-house footage into quality content.

Limiting shoots to essential communications needs

For the duration of executive orders restricting gatherings, ReelSmart will limit our shoot work to projects that may be deemed essential to the ability of clients to effectively communicate with their communities. Examples include (but are not limited to): educational videos, informational or FAQ videos regarding steps or policies your business or organization has put in place, internal communications with homebound staff, and livestreaming services.

Providing essential services

In accordance with Empire State Development’s guidance on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s executive order 202.6 (or revised), ReelSmart may be considered an essential business under section 12: “Vendors that provide essential services or products, including logistics and technology support.”

Limiting the number of crew and other shoot participants

On all shoots we conduct, ReelSmart will place a total limit of 5 on the number of people who may be present. This includes both ReelSmart production personnel as well as client staff. Many of our interview-style shoots can be done with a single crew member and a single on-camera personality.

Practicing good hygiene on shoots

ReelSmart will ensure a hygienic shoot environment by wiping down all equipment before and after entering the shoot premises. Our shoot personnel will likewise thoroughly wash our forearms and hands and wear fresh gloves and masks after entering the premises.

Maintaining social distancing on shoots

We will take steps to ensure that shoot participants maintain a safe distance of at least 6 feet from each other throughout your essential communications shoots. These will include the use of boom microphones, instead of lapel microphones, to avoid contact with on-camera talent, and the provision of disposable makeup items such as oil wipes in place of the application of powder. We will also ensure that any space that we shoot in is large enough to accommodate proper distancing.

Giving back

Finally, as a socially responsible company that prioritizes giving back to the community, we will contribute a portion of our time to providing pro-bono video communications services to grassroots mutual-aid efforts in our home borough of Brooklyn. These volunteer-led community initiatives are actively organizing to help our vulnerable and homebound neighbors meet needs they are currently unable to take care of such as picking up groceries or medications. ReelSmart will support these efforts by creating volunteer onboarding videos on topics such as safety and hygiene.
